Cats are adorable.
While not every cat is, they are generally cute. Some treat their owners like complete strangers, but whenever they whimsically crawl into your arms, it feels like having the whole world. However, when they suddenly start loafing in front of your monitor while you're gaming, frustration sets in. Even if you gently move them away, they stubbornly block the screen, and sometimes sit right down on your keyboard or mouse. You want to game, but you don't know what to do with the cat.
A piece of clothing has been released to tackle this exact dilemma for cat owners head-on.
Japanese company Be-s's hobby brand BIBILAB released 'Mewgaroo Hoodie 3' (にゃんガルーパーカー3), loungewear designed for cat owners, on October 15. The product features a large pouch on the abdomen area, allowing owners to keep their cat inside while keeping both hands completely free.
The pouch measures 40 cm wide, 23 cm high, and 8 cm deep, designed to fit even relatively large or chubby cats. The interior features a removable boa lining, along with a support cushion for the pocket and a drawstring for adjusting the pouch opening. It is designed with increased stability so owners do not need to support the cat with their hands.
This third-generation model also adds more features tailored for cats. Cat toys are attached to the ends of the hood drawstrings, and a dedicated smartphone pocket has been added to the chest. By securing a smartphone with its camera turned on, owners can take hands-free photos of the cat resting inside the pouch. Furthermore, even the owner gets to turn into a cat. The hood of the 'Mewgaroo Hoodie 3' features small cat ears. In effect, you can go beyond being a cat-owning gamer and become a cat gamer yourself.
The Mewgaroo Hoodie was first released in 2015, drawing attention for its unique design combining a cat-sized pouch with a cat-eared hood. According to Be-s, cumulative sales for the series have surpassed 40,000 units, and this new release is the latest model introduced after five years. The product is available in two sizes: M and L.
