On October 15, Bose launched the Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds. Continuing the legacy of the QC20 introduced 11 years ago, the new product features a USB-C connection and supports three listening modes.
The new product features a playback output of 24-bit/48kHz and uses the USB Audio Class 2 (UAC2) protocol. Applying Bose's sound design digital signal processing technology, it supports lossless audio listening. Bose explained that the low latency of the wired connection reduces audio-visual desync during video watching, gaming, and content creation.
Power is supplied directly from the connected device. When connected to compatible USB-C smartphones, tablets, and computers, it can be used without separate charging, Bluetooth pairing, or app setup. The noise cancellation feature also works without requiring battery charging.
The QuietControl technology, which detects and cancels ambient sound, utilizes two microphones per earbud for a total of four. The listening modes consist of Quiet Mode to reduce ambient noise, Aware Mode to let surrounding sounds in, and ANC Off Mode to turn off noise cancellation.
Volume, playback, calls, and noise cancellation modes are controlled via physical buttons on the cable's inline remote. A dedicated microphone for calls is located on the back of the remote. According to Bose, this microphone is designed to minimize unwanted noise caused by rubbing against clothing while delivering clear voice audio, allowing users to make calls without holding the remote close to their mouth.
The cable length is approximately 1.28 meters, and it supports IPX4 water resistance. The silicone eartips are provided in three sizes (S, M, and L), and the stability wings in two sizes (M and L). Users can adjust the fit by combining eartips and wings or use the earbuds without wings, and a zippered carrying case is included.
The available colors are Black, White Smoke, and limited-edition Dewdrop Mint. In South Korea, Black will be released first, followed sequentially by the remaining two colors.
