FunnyStorm (CEO Yoo Choong-gil) announced that it launched the global service for its location-based RPG 'Dragon Raid: Another World' on October 14 at 10:00 AM. The game is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and is free-to-play.
'Dragon Raid' utilizes smartphone GPS to turn real-world locations—such as near home or daily commutes—into the stage for adventure. Players become adventurers in an alternate-world Earth where all living creatures have evolved into dragons, purifying dragons infected by the 'Blackened Order' and recruiting them as allies.
The game features over 160 species of dragons, with appearing dragons varying based on the time of day, weather, and temperature. In Korea, players can also encounter region-exclusive dragons themed after the Gumiho and Sangun.
Combat plays out by tapping the screen while aiming for 'Critical Zones,' incorporating strategic elements like weapon and elemental affinities. The game features equipment collection and enhancement, costume customization, as well as cooperative 'Dragon Dispatch' for up to 10 players, the 100-floor 'Tower of the Blackened Order' covering five elements, and the endgame content 'Dragon Raid'.
Players worldwide can play together on a single server. Starting this November, monthly themed events and weekend events are scheduled to run. All users who participated in pre-registration via Kakao Games, Inven, and HungryApp will receive a limited 'Pioneer' costume set consisting of two outfits (male and female).
Yoo Choong-gil, CEO of FunnyStorm, stated, "Dragon Raid is a game that begins with curiosity about what kinds of dragons might be in our neighborhood," adding, "We are delighted to embark on this first adventure in an alternate-world Earth alongside players around the globe starting today. We will consistently add content and events with each new season."
