NC will release the 'BASIC' update for its MMORPG Lineage 2 on October 28, introducing the new server 'Gludin' and the new class 'Overlord: Bartz'.
On October 14, NC launched a brand website to reveal major update details and pre-registration event information. The newly added class, 'Overlord: Bartz', is a melee combat class that uses a dagger as its main weapon. Carrying on the spirit of the 'Bartz Liberation War'—a key narrative in Lineage 2 history—it offers fast-paced combat based on high mobility.
The new server, 'Gludin', centers around the core keywords Standard, Simple, and Slow. Players will start with No-Grade equipment, the lowest tier, and progress at a steady pace. The 'Falchion' featured in the server slogan represents an iconic weapon that players in the early days of Lineage 2 used to acquire first.
NC plans to operate 'Gludin' to narrow the progression gap between players and emphasize the fun of playing together. It will strengthen cooperative gameplay content and World Boss raids where players join forces. Inheriting the spirit of Lineage 2's second chronicle, 'Age of Splendor', NC also plans to increase reward levels for major content, including hunting grounds and raids.
The update will also introduce 'Common Craft', a system for directly crafting items needed for character growth. Crafting uses 'Crystals', materials obtained through gameplay. NC designed this system around the full gameplay loop connecting hunting, crafting, enhancing, and trading.
Pre-registration for the 'Gludin' server is currently open on the official Lineage 2 website. Participation rewards include a '+7 Falchion Exchange Ticket', '+5 Bronze Armor Exchange Ticket', and 'Lineage 2 BASIC Growth Support Pack'.
