Netmarble has launched the Global Content Alignment server for Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, the open-world action role-playing game (RPG) based on HBO's Game of Thrones series, bringing redesigned systems and new story content as of October 13th 2026.
According to a release, the new server has redesigned progression systems, reworked combat, better social and multiplayer features and earlier access to co-op content. Netmarble also promises ‘stunning new visuals’. A trailer was released alongside the news.
New story content for Western players
Western players can now play the Casterly Rock story content for the first time, the release says. Casterly Rock is the Lannisters' ancestral home. Players travel there to face new challenges and some ‘familiar–but not necessarily friendly–faces’, according to Netmarble.
Season 3 also went live. Its update, “Trial of the Stormlands Bannermen: Rain and Flame”, lets players side with one of three bannerman houses: Fell, Connington or Morrigen. Together, those houses form a united front against the spread of the R'hllor Red Heretic Priest faction.
Season 3 also adds personal ranking competitions and open-field exploration activities. Players set out to claim a new artifact, the ‘Breath of Balerion’, which Netmarble calls a remnant from the day Harrenhal fell: fused slag thought to be left behind when Aegon the Conqueror, riding his dragon Balerion the Black Dread, set Harrenhal ablaze during the Targaryen Conquest.
Moving to the new server
Current players have a choice. They can keep their existing characters and gameplay progress on the current Western Server, or move to the Global Content Alignment server for the redesigned systems. Netmarble is offering a reward program for the switch, based on character progression and cumulative purchase history on the Western Server.
Netmarble has posted a Developer's Note and an FAQ (frequently asked questions) on its official forum covering the new server and the reward program in full. The game is officially licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of HBO.
