Konami Digital Entertainment has revealed its plans for eFootball Championship 2027, the official esports season for eFootball (its free-to-play football game on console, PC and mobile). World Finals spots in the console and mobile divisions grow from 16 to 24. The prize pool triples, too: from $100,000 to $300,000.

The season has two main tracks, according to a release dated October 8th 2026. The Club Event picks the best players for partner clubs such as FC Barcelona and Manchester United; the Open lets anyone in. Regional events add another route. Their winners go straight to the World Finals.

An esports season is a fixed calendar of competitions, usually online qualifiers feeding a final. eFootball used to be called Pro Evolution Soccer (PES). KONAMI says it has passed 1 billion downloads.

Club Event, Open and the World Finals

Qualifiers from every track meet at the World Finals in summer 2027, where they will play for the world champion title. No exact date yet. The first Club Event, eFootball Championship 2027 FC Internazionale Milano, picks that club’s representative, the release says.

Club Final winners get a trip to their partner club: an official match, plus a stadium tour. There’s a reward for in-game play as well. Players who rank high in a three-round ranking event can earn ‘Show Time’ rewards to boost their squads.

Last season drew 45 million players worldwide, according to KONAMI. Full details sit on the official eFootball website.
