NetEase Games and subsidiary developer Everstone Studio will unveil the new region 'Qingzhou' for their wuxia game Where Winds Meet on October 15. The update introduces a new sect, weapon, and three world bosses.
'Qingzhou' is a "mountain and sea" region where mountain ranges meet the ocean, expanding the stage for exploration to the east. In this realm rooted in Confucian thought, players set off from Eastern Peak to explore pine-forested mountain paths and mudflats where the Yellow River meets the sea. On October 29, the mist-shrouded island of Penglai will open, allowing players to discover stories hidden across the sea and within seafront academies. Players will also encounter locals who guide lost travelers or stand alongside them against danger.
The three new world bosses are 'Tidewatcher', 'Old Raftsman', and 'Zhu Yinghan'. 'Tidewatcher' rides bamboo stilts and attacks with floral spear techniques, while 'Old Raftsman' performs staff techniques atop a wooden raft. 'Zhu Yinghan', the leader of Dragonfall Camp, showcases his shuttlecock kicking skills.
The new support combat weapon, the 'Ribbon Drum', combines martial arts with the rhythm of classical court dance. Utilizing ribbons, spinning steps, and drumbeats, it strikes or binds enemies with ribbons to inflict stun and silence effects. Playing the drum provides buffs to allies.
In the new sect, the 'Inkbound Order', players can learn skills as guest scholars while retaining their existing sect affiliation. Rooted in a thousand-year tradition of thinkers, the Inkbound Order emphasizes debate, art, and music. Players experience sect life by acting as exam proctors or participating in relaxing activities on the farm.
The Inkbound Order also features a card-based PvP debate mode, 'A Duel of Wits'. In this confrontation, players subdue opponents using verbal sparring, proverbs, and psychological warfare.
Detailed information about the Qingzhou region can be found on the official Where Winds Meet website and Naver Lounge.
