On the 14th, the G-STAR Organizing Committee revealed the second speaker lineup and detailed session information for 'G-CON 2026.' Centered around 'Narrative' and 'AI,' the event will cover perspectives from creators across various fields, including games, film, drama, and webtoons.
In the first newly added session, Lead Writer Ariadna Martinez and Art Director Joanna Wang from 'Ghost of Yōtei' will present the process of building the title's narrative and visuals. Author Lee Jong-beom will explore, from a creator's perspective, the balance between historical and cultural context and creative interpretation, as well as narrative structure strategies that drive player immersion.
The second session will feature Moby Francke, Gavin Goulden, Bruno Velazquez, and Elmeri Raitanen. Drawing from their experience working on titles such as 'God of War', 'Marvel's Spider-Man', 'Control', 'Team Fortress 2', 'League of Legends', and 'VALORANT', they will explain the process of bringing ideas and concepts to life in game worlds through characters, environments, animation, and visual effects. Cecil Kim, Studio Art Director at thatgamecompany, will serve as the moderator.
In the third session, Masakazu Hirayama and Kohei Shibata from Team NINJA will address the development methods of high-difficulty action RPGs. Based on their experience with the 'Nioh', 'Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty', and 'NINJA GAIDEN' series, they will introduce how characters and worlds are expressed through combat, the balance between challenge and achievement, and the impact of failure and retries on narrative.
Additionally, a special conversation between Shift Up CEO Kim Hyung-tae and CEO Shinji Mikami will take place, alongside a session featuring Story Director Marcin Blacha and Narrative Director Philipp Weber from 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt'. Director Cho Yonghee of 'Pragmata' and Director Park In-je of 'Moving' will discuss how to design characters and relationships across different media.
Yoshinori Kitase from the original 'FINAL FANTASY VII' and Naoki Hamaguchi of the remake project will also take the stage together. Directors Jang Hang-jun and Lee Byeong-heon will speak about the sense and context of dialogue that remain difficult to replace even in the AI era, while the creators of 'Hades', 'Returnal', and 'Dispatch' will discuss game narrative created by systems, choices, and music.
Lee Dong-gun, creator of 'Yumi's Cells', and Hyesook Kim, Senior Animator on 'Inside Out 2', will address the visualization of emotions and immersion. Husband-and-wife creators Ryan Green and Amy Green of 'That Dragon, Cancer', along with writer Lee Nak-joon, are scheduled to discuss attitudes toward translating personal lives and experiences into creative works, as well as the boundaries between documentation and adaptation.
'G-CON 2026', featuring AI story creation platform 'Crack' as its main sponsor, will be held from November 19 to 20 on the 3rd floor of the BEXCO Convention Hall in Busan. Additional sessions and the lecture schedule are scheduled to be released during September.
