Gen.G defeated Hanwha Life Esports 3-1 on September 13 at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, in the 2026 Woori Bank LCK Finals to claim the championship for the second consecutive year.
Riot Games, organizer of League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK)—the Korean professional league for League of Legends (LoL) esports—announced that the 2026 Woori Bank LCK FINALS took place on September 12 and 13. Gen.G, who advanced directly to the finals, dropped the first set against Hanwha Life Esports but went on to win three consecutive sets.
In Game 2, Gen.G set the stage for a comeback when Kim "Kiin" Gi-in's Varus secured two kills in an early 2v2 skirmish. In teamfights, Kim's Varus and Park "Ruler" Jae-hyeuk's Kalista added firepower to secure the win.
In Game 3, Park's Zeri and Joo "Duro" Min-kyu's Yuumi maintained momentum by delivering results in every fight. Gen.G then sealed the championship in Game 4 by responding to the opponent's attacks, centered around Joo's Alistar.
Gen.G recorded their seventh total LCK championship, including their era as Samsung Galaxy. Under the Gen.G name used since 2018, this marks their sixth title. They previously won four consecutive titles from Summer 2022 to Spring 2024, and continued their dominance with back-to-back titles in 2025 and 2026 after the league transitioned to a single-season format.
Park Jae-hyeuk was named Finals MVP. The winning team, Gen.G, will be awarded the 2026 LCK Champion Ring crafted by Golden Dew, while Park was given a necklace as an additional prize.
Park said, "I am happy to achieve consecutive LCK titles as part of Gen.G, which has a great head coach, coaching staff, and great players, and winning MVP as well feels amazing. I will do my best to win the LoL World Championship in the United States."
Gen.G will enter the LoL World Championship held in the United States in late October as the LCK's No. 1 seed. Hanwha Life Esports will attend as the No. 2 seed, while T1 and Dplus KIA will participate as the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, respectively.
