MSI Korea officially launched its portable EV charger, 'MSI EZgo,' in the Korean market on the 14th. This is the first EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) product MSI has introduced to the domestic EV charging infrastructure market.
The 'MSI EZgo' features a plug-and-charge design that connects directly to standard power outlets without requiring additional installation. It supports a maximum output of up to 3.5 kW when using a Type E+F plug and up to 7 kW when using a CEE plug. A dedicated carrying case and home mounting kit are also included as standard accessories.
The product features a 1.8-inch LCD screen and multi-color LED indicators to check charging status such as voltage, charging speed, and temperature. By linking with the Bluetooth-based 'MSI aConnect App,' users can monitor charging status and notifications and schedule charging times directly from their smartphones.
For safety features, it is equipped with an automatic shut-off function that triggers when the internal temperature reaches 90 degrees Celsius, along with overload protection and leakage detection. According to MSI, the charger uses a 600V highly heat-resistant cable and UL817 and IEC 62196 certified connectors, and has obtained an IP66 waterproof and dustproof rating as well as IK08 impact protection certification. It has also undergone durability testing to withstand 2 tons of vehicle crushing.
Elsa, Head of the EVSE Business Division at MSI Global Headquarters, said, "EZgo is a product that combines MSI's long-accumulated hardware technological capabilities with the mobility and safety that users value." She added, "We plan to provide Korean consumers with a smarter and safer charging experience while expanding our presence in the eco-friendly energy market."
The 'MSI EZgo' has obtained Korea's KC62752 safety certification standard and will be distributed through officially designated domestic online sales channels.
