Kakao Games announced on September 7 that it has revealed the official BI and key visual for 'ArcheAge S: Strait of Freedom' (hereinafter ArcheAge S), a PC MMORPG currently in development by XLGAMES.
The official BI inherits the design composition of the 'ArcheAge' IP while incorporating imagery of the sea, navigation, and a compass. Centered around the letter 'S', which stands for the subtitle 'Strait', it expresses the ocean and seafaring theme embodied by 'Strait of Freedom'.
The key visual reinterprets the world and tone of the original game in a classic art style. Featuring five key characters connected to the lore alongside a fleet cutting through the sea, it depicts the narrative and scale of the game expanding from land to naval warfare.
'ArcheAge S' is a new title led by XLGAMES Producer Kim Kyung-tae, who served as the first planning team lead and producer for the original 'ArcheAge'. While inheriting the core identity of the original game, it is being reinterpreted to fit modern gaming trends, with preparations underway for a Steam-centered service targeting a global release in Q2 2027.
Kakao Games plans to release a developer preview video in September. In the video, the development team will appear to explain their design philosophy and intent, as well as introduce core content and actual gameplay.
