KRAFTON is increasing its cumulative investment in India to $500 million (approx. 675.2 billion won). KRAFTON Chairman of the Board Byung-gyu Chang met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on September 4 to discuss long-term operational plans for the company's business in India and announced this investment policy.

To date, KRAFTON has invested $250 million (approx. 337.6 billion won) in India. The plan is to commit an additional $250 million over the next three to four years, bringing its cumulative direct investment to the $500 million level.
The company explained that it has separately established a $670 million venture growth fund to invest in growth-stage startups within India's digital ecosystem.
The target of these investments is not limited to game development. KRAFTON stated that it will expand its capital allocation into artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and deep tech. This reflects its vision of viewing India not merely as a publishing market for new releases, but as a technology investment destination and development hub.
Talent development and methods to secure local intellectual property (IP) were also brought to the discussion table. On September 1, KRAFTON India signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) to launch 'KIGI Academy,' an educational program for game development and interactive media. This approach aims to build a local developer supply chain starting from the academic stage.
KRAFTON stated that this investment aligns with the Indian government's 'Create in India, Create for India, Create for the World' policy and its 'Viksit Bharat' development vision. The company explained that this is also connected to the broader trend of bilateral cooperation between South Korea and India in digital infrastructure and innovation.
Chairman Byung-gyu Chang said, "India is a market of immense opportunity with exceptional talent across gaming, technology, and innovation," adding, "Our continued investment reflects our long-term confidence in India and our commitment to contributing to India's digital economy." He continued, "Through investment, talent development, and a focus on new technologies, we will work alongside India's creator, developer, and entrepreneur communities to build experiences and technology that succeed in the global market."
