KRAFTON launched 'Battlin: Gaming Tournaments,' a mobile esports tournament app, in the Indian market on September 4. The service handles tournament creation, entry, team formation, and result announcements all within a single app.

Battlin hosts new tournaments every day, allowing users to search and apply for competitions by format, time, and remaining slots. Saving a tournament triggers notifications before the registration deadline. Participation is available for both individuals and teams. The system allows users to create a roster, assign roles, and complete team registration in a single process.
KRAFTON stated, "There are no spreadsheets, no scattered group chats, and no chasing down organizers to get room info." The company explained that this resolves the previously cumbersome process.
Match schedules, room entry details, live progress, and final rankings can all be checked within the app. Both team chat and tournament chat are built-in, enabling organizers to share announcements and match start notifications on the same screen. KRAFTON noted that rewards are distributed via the app interface and registered contact information after results are finalized.
Organizer features are also included. Setting tournament formats, opening registration, sharing links, managing slots and schedules, posting results, and processing rewards can all be completed directly on a mobile phone. KRAFTON explained that rules are clearly displayed on every tournament page, with built-in reporting and blocking features, and that organizers holding official tournaments undergo prior screening. Users sign up with a phone number and link their game account once to accumulate match records and rankings on their profile.
The revealed app interface features tournaments for 'Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI)' alongside 'Marvel Rivals' tournaments and 3-minute Blitz chess matches. Rather than being tied solely to BGMI, the app appears to aim at being a multi-title platform for amateur competitions. KRAFTON outlined a target audience ranging from university festival tournament organizers to players aiming for top rankings.
Until now, amateur BGMI tournaments in India were largely left to external third parties. When BGMI launched in 2021, its first official tournament was hosted by third-party platform Ultimate Battle, and tournament recruitment, slot assignments, and result settlements continued to be scattered across WhatsApp and Telegram group chats and spreadsheets. While KRAFTON has directly managed top official tournaments such as BGIS, it lacked control over user influx channels and data from the grassroots competitions players participate in daily.
Battlin is an attempt to bring this segment into KRAFTON's proprietary app. Since whoever controls tournament operations decides game selection and exposure hierarchy, establishing the app could elevate KRAFTON from a game publisher to a gateway operator for amateur esports in India.
India is a market where KRAFTON has expanded both revenue and user base together. According to Inven reports, cumulative downloads for BGMI exceeded 260 million as of Q1 2026, and paying users increased by 17% year-over-year. KRAFTON previously announced plans to launch 'BGMI Lite' for low-spec devices in India within 2026. This places the Lite version, which expands the player base, alongside Battlin, which links tournament participation, in the same year.
