Smilegate's global gaming platform STOVE has opened pre-registration for its new addition, Special Force Remastered. Registered users will receive various rewards, including discount coupons, limited-edition skins, and STOVE-exclusive items.
Smilegate announced on September 4 that pre-registration for Special Force Remastered, an FPS built on Unreal Engine 5, will run through September 16.
Upon completing pre-registration, users can immediately receive 'Flakes' and discount coupons. After the official launch, limited-edition skins and STOVE-exclusive items will be distributed, alongside tiered bonus rewards based on cumulative playtime. Pre-registration rewards can be received in addition to event benefits on the official website.
Special Force Remastered is a follow-up title that rebuilds Special Force—the FPS originally released by Dragonfly in 2004—using Unreal Engine 5. It inherits the control feel of the original, including weapon-specific firing patterns and the sniper's 'quick-scope' mechanism, while remaking popular maps such as 'Desert Camp', 'Satellite', and 'Nerve Gas' with modern graphics.
New features include tactical equipment and a customization system that allows players to attach weapon parts based on weapon level. This expands the strategic options available to adapt to tactical situations.
Development was led by Executive Producer Park Cheol-seung, founder of Dragonfly and developer of the original Special Force. Signature movement mechanics from the original, including 'diagonal movement', 'ghost step', and 'mid-air direction change', have also been restored to replicate the classic control feel.
