SOOP will host the Round of 16 for 'Google Play ASL Season 22' starting September 7. Twelve players who advanced from the Round of 24 and four seed holders will compete for spots in the Round of 8.

SOOP (co-CEOs Choi Young-woo and Lee Min-won) announced that it will begin Week 1 of the 'Google Play ASL Season 22' Round of 16, played on StarCraft: Remastered, at FreecUP Studio in Daechi-dong, Seoul, at 7:00 PM on September 7. The Round of 16 matchups were finalized through the group selection ceremony held on August 31.

In Week 2 of the Round of 24, which started on August 24, Kim Kyung-mo (Z) and Cho Il-jang (Z) from Group D, Kim Min-chul (Z) and Jung Young-jae (T) from Group E, and Kim Myung-woon (Z) and Kim Jung-woo (Z) from Group F secured their spots in the Round of 16.

Together with Kim Yoon-joong (P), Yoo Young-jin (T), Lee Young-han (Z), Kim Jae-hyun (T), Do Jae-wook (P), and Lee Jae-dong (Z), who advanced through Week 1 of the Round of 24, a total of 12 players made it to the next round via the Round of 24. They are joined by seed holders Jang Yoon-chul (P), Park Sang-hyun (Z), Lee Jae-ho (T), and Shin Sang-moon (T). By race, the lineup features 5 Terrans, 8 Zergs, and 3 Protoss.

The first Round of 16 matches kick off with Group A on September 7 at 7:00 PM. Park Sang-hyun, Kim Yoon-joong, Do Jae-wook, and Yoo Young-jin will face off for spots in the Round of 8. Group B, taking place on September 8 at 7:00 PM, will feature Shin Sang-moon, Kim Kyung-mo, Lee Jae-dong, and Kim Myung-woon.

The Week 2 schedule begins with Group C on September 14 at 7:00 PM. Lee Jae-ho, Jung Young-jae, Kim Min-chul, and Cho Il-jang have been drawn into Group C. Among them, Lee Jae-ho, Kim Min-chul, and Cho Il-jang all possess prior ASL championship titles, setting the stage for a competition among three former champions. On September 15 at 7:00 PM, the final Group D matches will feature Jang Yoon-chul, Kim Jae-hyun, Lee Young-han, and Kim Jung-woo.

Matches 1 and 2 of each group will be played as a single game on the 3-player map 'Aeolus'. In the Winners' Match, Losers' Match, and Final Match, players will each ban one map excluding '(3)Aeolus'. Three maps will then be randomly drawn from the remaining pool for a best-of-three series.

All Round of 16 matches will be held offline with a live audience at FreecUP Studio in Daechi-dong, Seoul, starting at 7:00 PM. Live broadcasts and VODs will be provided on the SOOP Esports page, while tournament details, including match prediction events, can be found on the official SOOP ASL channel.
