The classic tactical SRPG The Legend of Fancy Realm, which first debuted in 1998, is coming to players in a fully modernized form after 28 long years. Ahead of its official release on September 10, 2026, information revealed at the D-7 mark shows that while inheriting the original's signature strategic combat, the remake reflects various modern gaming trends, including support for five languages. Full voice acting has been applied to the entire main story to maximize narrative immersion, while character illustrations and combat cutscenes have been updated with a modern sensibility, bringing the continent of Falsion to life with even greater flair.

The core of combat lies in character positioning, terrain utilization, and skill combinations. Moving beyond simple character building, the structure leaves victory and defeat dependent on tactical judgment. In particular, the addition of a 'Combo Kill' system—where defeating enemies consecutively earns bonus experience—and a 'Turn Rewind' feature that allows players to revert to previous turns at any time significantly lowers the entry barrier for new players. Dynamic difficulty adjustments can also be made at any point, allowing veteran fans to enjoy the authentic challenge of classic SRPGs. In terms of progression, players can reinforce each character's unique role through stat allocation and skill acquisition, while unlocking hidden advanced classes to craft diverse party tactics.

Beyond combat in the main story, the game is filled with diverse statistical elements and side content. The newly added casual card battle mode, 'Feng Yu Qing Guo', takes place on a 6-tile battlefield where victory is achieved by reducing the opponent's HP to 0 in a best-of-three format. Support for an official in-game MOD editor and Steam Workshop to maximize player freedom is another noteworthy element.
