Riot Games will officially launch the Korean-language edition of physical trading card game (TCG) 'Riftbound' on September 18.

'Riftbound' is a strategic card battle game set in the 'League of Legends' (LoL) universe. Two to four players build their own decks to take control of the battlefield. In Korea, the game will launch with its first set, 'Origins'.

Korean-language 'Origins' booster packs will feature a new 'Ahri, Nine-Tailed Fox' card created to commemorate the Korean release. Centered on LoL champion Ahri—who was inspired by the gumiho (nine-tailed fox) of traditional Korean folklore—the card is an over-number card featuring artwork paying homage to the 'Dynasty Ahri' skin. It will appear at a set probability alongside existing Ahri over-number cards.

Launch celebration events will take place at Dongdaemun GGX in Seoul from September 18 to 23, and at Dopamine Station on the 3rd floor of Living Park at IPARK Mall Yongsan from September 18 to 30. During the event period, attendees will have the opportunity to receive special promo cards.

Riot Games plans to build a collaborative network not only with traditional TCG specialty stores but also with key PC bang hubs. A dedicated space where visitors can play 'Riftbound' firsthand will be set up at GGX, with plans to expand the play environment across Korea's PC bang ecosystem in the future.
