Supercell announced on its official website on August 31 that both parties have signed the agreement and expect the transaction to close by the end of September. Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed. The two companies are currently preparing for the game's transition and integration process.
This agreement is the follow-up step to Supercell's plans revealed in May to acquire the remaining stake in Metacore. At the time, Supercell announced its strategy to secure the remaining shares of Metacore and add Merge Mansion to its lineup of live games.
Released in 2020, Merge Mansion is a mobile puzzle game where players combine identical items to complete tasks, restore a mansion and garden, and progress through the story. It is currently available on iOS and Android.
Metacore expressed expectations that Supercell's experience in operating global live games will support the long-term growth of Merge Mansion. Supercell highlighted the game's brand, player community, gameplay, and narrative as its key strengths.
Supercell noted that game services provided to players will continue as normal as the transaction moves forward. The development team will also continue operations for the existing community.
