Representative Jeong Yeon-wook of the People Power Party stated on September 2 that moves to relocate G-STAR, South Korea's largest game show, to another region must be blocked and that holding the event in Busan must be protected.

At a party-government consultation held with Busan Metropolitan City on the same day, Rep. Jeong emphasized, "G-STAR, which draws more than 200,000 visitors during its event period, is a valuable asset that Busan has guarded for a long time," adding, "Moves to move G-STAR to another region can never be tolerated, and we must protect it at all costs."

According to an official from Rep. Jeong Yeon-wook's office, the remarks came after it was revealed during a closed-door party-government consultation that other regions were actively pursuing bids to host G-STAR.

G-STAR is South Korea's largest international game exhibition, having been held in Busan since 2009. Rep. Jeong explained, "Steadfastly protecting G-STAR is a key pillar in Busan's leap toward becoming a premier marine tourism city."

Rep. Jeong added that he will continue taking action in the National Assembly to defend Busan's assets, including G-STAR, and help Suyeong District and Busan establish themselves as global marine tourism destinations.
