On Wednesday, August 26, SOL: enchant (hereafter SOL) released the EPISODE 01 - GENESIS: Battlefield of the Gods update. With the arrival of the Healer, the first new class added to the game, alongside ongoing growth events, many players are currently leveling up Healers. Let's look at which skill books are the most efficient to purchase first.

After acquiring all the affordable Advanced skills, you might wonder which Rare skill to learn first. For early-game progression, Icicle III has the highest priority. Its expected damage output relative to MP consumption is very high, and because its area of effect is not excessively wide, it rarely triggers the typical downside of AOE skills—attracting agro from too many monsters.

Freezing Fall is closer to a trap skill. At first glance, it seems to have decent damage, a wide area of effect, and even a status ailment, but enemies afflicted with the Frozen status become immune to damage from all skills. It acts like a combination of a stun and invincibility. While it is useful in PVP for quickly saving allies or CCing key damage dealers, it is actually counterproductive for monster hunting.

Besides that, there are several options, such as Divine Sword I, which provides Accuracy essential for entering higher-level hunting grounds, and Bless Heal, which prevents sudden deaths. Since Bless Heal has a very high MP cost, it is recommended to set its trigger condition to low HP so that it is only used in emergencies. Holy Recovery, which increases Potion Recovery Rate, is also a good skill, but keep in mind that it costs 3,496,500 Nine—twice as expensive as other Rare skills.

When it comes time to choose Heroic skills, there are two main progression paths. The first method is to acquire the Heroic skill Divine Ray and use it along with your existing Icicle for AOE farming. This allows you to quickly farm Nine in lower-level hunting grounds, or take advantage of the Healer's abundance of AOE skills by manually grouping mobs with the Healer and clearing them with your main character to level up fast.

The second is single-target hunting, which uniquely uses no offensive skills at all. By taking advantage of how easily health can be maintained through healing, this method allows for faster entry into high-level hunting grounds like Beast Pass. Since you have to kill mobs with basic attacks alone, your DPS is low and hunting takes longer, but it enables faster access to higher-tier spots that offer high EXP, Nine, and rare high-value equipment drops. You can also buff your main character in party play, so its efficiency is by no means bad.

In the former case, it is best to acquire Divine Ray and Divine Orb II first; in the latter case, Divine Sword II should be prioritized. Choose carefully based on the direction you want to develop your Healer. However, note that Divine Sword II can only be obtained through boss drops rather than the Skill Book Merchant, meaning you will need to buy it with Diamonds on the Exchange. Of course, if you have sufficient resources, acquiring all three skills and switching between the two playstyles depending on the situation is also a good strategy.

Because most Healer skills are AOE, progression splits into two main paths: pulling and mobbing monsters in zones below your stats, or prioritizing sustain over damage to push into higher-level hunting grounds early. Keep in mind that as a result, hunting speed in areas suited to your actual stats is relatively slow compared to other classes.

Prior to the patch on Wednesday, September 2, there were issues such as an error with Divine Ray's player debuff, an issue where Heal and Bless Heal could not be used simultaneously, and a bug where Heal was not cast during Squad mode or Offline Play, but all of these have now been fixed.
