On September 1, the 2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) Playoffs Upper Bracket Round 2 match between Gen.G Esports and KT Rolster took place at CHZZK LoL Park in Jongno. Gen.G Esports claimed victory in Game 1. Although KT Rolster held the advantage early on, two Elder Dragon steals by Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu secured the win for Gen.G Esports.

In Game 1, KT Rolster cleanly took down Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu's Lee Sin after he attempted a counter-jungle play. Gen.G Esports responded with Lee Sin ganking mid and top to land effective strikes, using their top priority to hit the Dragon first. However, despite being at a numerical disadvantage, KT Rolster managed to steal the Dragon and secure kills with a perfect ultimate combo, scoring major gains.

Riding the momentum, KT Rolster continued to press Gen.G Esports. They picked off Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon's Ryze in a side lane and easily completed three dragon stacks. Releasing the Rift Herald, they also took down the mid outer turret. Gen.G Esports committed multiple players to top to shut down Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong's Orianna, but were forced to give up three kills to the rapid collapse of KT Rolster's main squad.

Around the 22-minute mark, however, Gen.G Esports counterattacked. Instead of contesting the Dragon Soul, they set up a favorable teamfight and scored an Ace. Lee Sin and Kim "Kiin" Gi-in's Camille dove deep into the enemy lines to decisively clean up KT's carry lineup. Taking Baron as their prize, Gen.G Esports instantly built a global gold lead of over 3,000.

The Elder Dragon spawned. Struggling against Gen.G Esports' side-lane pressure, KT Rolster started the Elder Dragon first. Although Lee Sin stole the Elder, both Camille and Lee Sin were killed in the process. Taking advantage of their numerical superiority, KT Rolster rushed to Baron, brushing aside interference from Gen.G's carries to claim both Baron and additional kills. Afterwards, they picked off Ryze and destroyed the top inhibitor.

Around the 35-minute mark, both teams clashed at the second Elder Dragon. With Camille pushing up the top lane, KT Rolster was forced to start the Elder Dragon first, but Lee Sin succeeded in stealing it once again, completely turning the tide. Armed with the Elder Dragon buff, Gen.G Esports swept up kills uncontested and secured a clean Ace to finish the game.
