SEGA Publishing Korea has released the Version 2.2 update for its latest football simulation game, SEGA FOOTBALL CLUB CHAMPIONS 2026, introducing a new player development system alongside large-scale events granting up to 1,000 GB.

SEGA Publishing Korea (CEO Saito Go) has applied the Version 2.2 update to add new features to SEGA FOOTBALL CLUB CHAMPIONS 2026 (hereafter SFCC 2026), which is currently in service across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, iOS, Android, PC (Steam, Google Play Games on PC), ONE Store, and Huawei platforms. The core of this update is the introduction of equipment items known as 'Accessories' and the addition of the 'Bonus Count' system used to acquire them.

The newly introduced 'Bonus Count' can be used at the end of a season in 'Club Development Mode,' consuming it to obtain three types of key items: 'Player Reinforcement Pt,' 'Trainer Reinforcement Pt,' and 'Accessories.' Players can consume multiple counts at once to increase the probability of obtaining items. The count naturally recovers by 3 counts every day at 4:00 AM, accumulating up to a maximum of 5.

The newly introduced 'Accessories' are a new enhancement element equipped on 'SP Players' to boost their stats, divided into three equipment slots. Among the random option effects is a special function that alters a player's 'Play Mindset,' enabling even more strategic player development. 'Accessories' can be enhanced by consuming unnecessary equipment as materials, and setting higher league levels allows players to obtain equipment of higher rarity.

To celebrate the update, various events offering rich rewards will run until September 30, 2026, at 10:59 AM. Users who log in during the event period can participate in the 'Formation Combo Login Reward Event,' which grants a formation combo based on the 2026 Spanish national team. Up to the 10th cumulative day of logging in, players will receive a total of three 'SP Player BOX [Spain Select]' items, allowing them to recruit 3-star players such as 'DM' Fabián Ruiz, 'AM' Isco, and 'LB' Alejandro Balde.

Additionally, a 'Premium SP Player Scout' featuring Spanish national team players such as 'RW' Lamine Yamal, 'CB' Pau Cubarsí, 'DM' Gavi, and 'GK' Unai Simón is also being held. These players receive bonus benefits that increase the amount of points earned in the upcoming '6th CHAMPIONS CUP' and '7th WPS Contest.' Players can consume 3,000 RB or 3,000 GB to conduct a 10-pull draw, guaranteeing at least one 'Special Training Card' of 'SR' rank or higher, while a 1-time limited 3,000 RB-exclusive draw guarantees an 'SSR' rank card. Furthermore, completing the 'Club Development Mode Support Mission' by September 2 at 12:59 PM awards up to 1,000 GB in currency, and an additional slot can be unlocked through the 'SP Player Slot Expansion Event' for more efficient player development.

Meanwhile, SFCC 2026 inherits the series' traditional strategic depth while reinterpreting it for modern trends, putting players in total control as manager to develop a local club into a world-class powerhouse. It features real-name player data for over 5,000 players, including real-name players from 60 clubs belonging to the Meiji Yasuda J.League, as well as major European leagues, FIFPRO, K League, Major League Soccer, and the Japan national team. The game also offers collaborations with world-renowned prestigious clubs, including Manchester City FC from England and FC Bayern Munich from Germany.
