Sandbox Interactive has released "Dragonfire," a major content update for its sandbox MMORPG 'Albion Online'.
'Dragonfire' is an update that introduces dragons to the game world for the first time. Players can challenge the lair of a Fire Dragon and battle 'The Ashborn,' while exploring the new region, the 'Ancient Lands.' The update is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Android, and iOS.
In the 'Ancient Lands,' players can experience exploration alongside PvE and PvP combat. Entered through portals spawned across Albion, the content accommodates solo players, small groups, or parties of up to 20 players depending on the activity. Players progress by defeating enemies on floating islands and unlocking keystones to activate teleporters.
Continuing exploration leads to four Drake Islands. Here, players can acquire treasure chests and waystone fragments to unlock access to a higher-difficulty area, the Dragon Sanctuary.
At the end of the Dragon Sanctuary awaits the Fire Dragon, 'Azaryon.' The developer introduced this as the most difficult PvE challenge in the history of 'Albion Online.' Defeating Azaryon rewards players with a Fire Drake Egg, which can be raised into a 'Firewing Drake' mount. Dragons also appear in the open world, offering new combat objectives across the Royal Continent and the Outlands.
To celebrate the update's release, the creator contest 'Royal Hunt' will run until October 12. Participating creators will form guilds to compete by completing various missions, including slaying dragons.
