Webzen has finalized the title for its new game, 'I Became the Tyrant of a Defense Game: LAST STAGE' (hereinafter 'I Became the Tyrant of a Defense Game'), and unveiled its official BI.

'I Became the Tyrant of a Defense Game' is a command strategy RPG developed by Webzen subsidiary Webzen Crebix, based on the Naver Webtoon IP 'I Became the Tyrant of a Defense Game'. The subtitle 'LAST STAGE' and the BI embody the intent to showcase in game form the story of the final stage extended from the original IP.

Building on its connection to the original work, the game will partially expand the universe. It will also cover new storylines, such as episodes involving various characters and relationships between them.

Webzen is advancing development with a target launch in 2027. The company plans to bring the pixel-art universe of the original work to life by applying a diorama pixel-art technique, which combines the sensibility of 2D pixel art with 3D depth and cinematic presentation.

Using Unreal Engine 5-based 3D graphics, the game three-dimensionally expresses the original's signature atmosphere, while characters are finished pixel by pixel by hand in pixel art.

The original work's structure of 'exploration, defense battle, and territory management' has been restructured into a game system centered on party composition and tactical operation. It combines positioning strategy based on roles such as tanks and damage dealers with elements that allow players to directly command characters.

Webzen plans to reveal additional game information and launch schedules in accordance with development progress. In the second half of 2026, the company also plans to sequentially showcase details on new titles, including 'PROJECT G', an MMORPG based on the 'MU' IP.
