On August 29, the Korea Mobile Game Association and Starlike held the "Illustar World Organizing Committee Launching Ceremony" at Exhibition Hall 1 of KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, announcing the official launch of the organizing committee.

The organizing committee was formed to drive "Illustar World," a global subculture culture and industry platform based on the comprehensive subculture event "Illustar Fes." At the launching ceremony, attendees shared the committee's structure, roles, vision, and future operational direction, followed by the appointment of committee members and a commemorative photo session.

Lee Jae-hong, Chairman of the Korea Game Policy Society, was appointed as Committee Chairman; Kim Hyun-kyu, Senior Vice President of the Korea Mobile Game Association, as Executive Committee Chairman; and Lim Hyung-joo, Chairman of the Yongsan Cultural Foundation, as Advisory Committee Chairman. A total of 26 experts across various fields—including games, content, IP, law, accounting, media, education, administration, and cloud—joined the organizing committee.

"Illustar Fes" is a comprehensive subculture event hosted by Starlike. It offers diverse content including a creator market, stage performances, cosplay, corporate booths, and indie game demos. Held at KINTEX this past May, "Illustar Fes 11" featured approximately 1,000 creator circles and attracted over 32,000 visitors.

Leveraging the expertise and networks of specialists in each field, the organizing committee plans to explore collaborative measures to expand Illustar World's domestic and international operations and establish a global subculture ecosystem.
