Smilegate announced on August 28 that it has launched a major update and events to celebrate the 8th anniversary of the official launch of 'Epic Seven,' a mobile turn-based strategy RPG developed by Super Creative.

This update unveils the new side episode 'Paradise Lost' and adds key character 'Lisette' as a playable Moonlight Hero. Quality-of-life improvements and new PvP content were also introduced.

Added on August 27, 'Paradise Lost' is set in the first era of the world's lore, where destruction and restoration repeat. It explores the story of 'Kayron,' known to players as a villain, during his human days. Like the first side episode 'Rain of Fading Embers' released last year, all dialogue features full voice acting.

'Lisette' is a Hero with lore establishing her as a fragment of Goddess 'Diche' who descended in human form to prevent the world's destruction. She gains 4 stacks of 'Divinity' at the start of battle, which can be consumed to revive allies when they die. When used in the Divinity state, her third skill, 'Converged Time,' triggers 'Time Reversal' on all allies, resetting those Heroes to their state immediately after the battle began.

The repeat battle feature, 'Background Battling,' has been improved to allow battles to auto-run and earn rewards even while offline. Auto-sell and auto-extract features for equipment have also been added.

A new mode, 'The Call of Chaos,' has been introduced to the real-time PvP content World Arena. In this mode, players field 3 Heroes each and compete to destroy the opponent's rear-guard 'Guardian' first, with battle-selected effects known as 'Fate' applied during combat.

An 8th anniversary celebration event is also underway. From August 27 to October 29, a total of 1,260 free Covenant Summons will be available, and the bunny girl-themed skin for 'Majestic New Moon Luna'—the 1st place winner of the 2025 Hero Popularity Poll—is being provided as a login reward. '8th Anniversary Coins' earned in this year's Hero Popularity Poll can be exchanged for 5-Star Hero Summon Tickets, commemorative illustrations, and more.

In the 'Shining Moments' event, collecting points through play missions sequentially unlocks service records and rewards. Rewards include a Limited 5-Star Hero Selector, growth materials, and a Moonlight 5-Star Selector featuring the Natalon Academy universe. The 8th anniversary update will roll out sequentially starting on August 27.
