CD Projekt Red has raised the standard Steam price for 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' immediately following the announcement of its remaster. On US Steam, 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition' increased by $10, from $39.99 to $49.99.

As of the 28th, the Korean price displayed on SteamDB and the Steam store is 54,900 won. The Complete Edition includes the base game alongside its existing expansion packs, 'Hearts of Stone' and 'Blood and Wine'.

The price increase applies to new buyers. Existing game owners can upgrade to the remaster releasing on September 29 for free, but players looking to purchase the game for the first time must buy the Complete Edition at the increased price. The free upgrade policy applies to users who already own rights to the game, meaning it does not offer the remaster for free to new buyers.

Released in 2015, 'The Witcher 3' will feature overall gameplay improvements through this remaster, including visuals, combat, movement, and controls. The two existing expansion packs will also be included in the remaster.

CD Projekt Red did not provide a separate explanation for the price hike. While the price changed immediately after the remaster announcement, the company has not officially confirmed a connection between the two, leaving the reason behind the increase unverified.
