Neowiz announced on August 28 that it has rolled out a major update themed after the "Star Cat Festival" to celebrate the 5th anniversary of its relaxing mobile idle game 'Cats & Soup'.

This update centers around players decorating the Star Cat Forest and growing the Star Tree together. Neowiz explained that through this, it conveyed the slogan "Blooming Together for the 5th Anniversary" and expressed its gratitude to players.

The "5th Anniversary Grow the Star Tree Event" runs through September 9. Players can select one of three cats—'Kiki', 'Titi', or 'Popo'—to grow a star tree seed into a "Cosmic Star Tree." Rewards are granted based on participation and growth stages, and additional rewards based on the final growth stage will be distributed to all players when the event ends.

User-created content has also been added to the game. Two real-life cats belonging to players, selected from the "Spotlight Your Kitty Event" held in August for International Cat Day, now appear in the game. Decoration items selected from the 5th Anniversary Fan Art Contest have also been added to the "5th Anniversary Special Soup Pass."

The new limited-time cat, 'Starbell', can be obtained through in-game content including the "Observatory" and "Cat's Journey" until September 30. An attendance event running through the same date offers a forest theme, costumes, a limited cat selection ticket, Star Macarons, and more. In addition, the "5th Anniversary Wandering Workshop Event," "Star Tree Wish Login Rewards," and a "Kiki Birthday Coupon" have been prepared.

New content incorporating player feedback has also been added. At the "Baby Kitty Play Facility," players can watch up to four baby kitties playing together in a single facility. The update also introduces a new cooking facility, "Husking Goldenberries," and a new resting facility, "Feeding Fish." For returning players, the difficulty and rewards for returning missions have been adjusted, alongside various in-game currencies being provided.

We strove to convey the spirit of 'creating the 5th anniversary together' by allowing players to grow the Star Tree together and encounter content shaped by their cats and imagination within the game."
