On August 26, KRAFTON held a media showcase at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, unveiling five upcoming titles. The new PUBG franchise entry 'PUBG: Deadnet' and Eastern dark fantasy action RPG 'TARAE: The Unbound' were revealed for the first time. The lineup consists of one PUBG-related title and four games being developed by domestic and overseas studios.
The presentation opened with Taeseok Jang, KRAFTON's Chief Global Publishing Officer (CGPO). Jang began his career as a game artist and served as producer, art director, and studio head from the early days of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS development, before KRAFTON appointed him as the company-wide head of publishing in June.
"It was about attitude, not metrics"... CGPO Jang reflects on 10 years

Taking the stage, Jang began by saying, "I want to start today's presentation not as Chief Global Publishing Officer, but as a fellow gamer." He continued, "Having spent most of my life with video games and played countless titles, some of them still remain vividly in my memory even decades later. I wondered for a long time why certain games remain in fans' hearts for so long, and it was my dream to one day create such a game as a gamer and a developer."
He also touched upon the development process of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, which he joined 10 years ago. Reflecting on its launch in 2017, Jang recalled, "I wasn't sure how successful this game would be either." He added, "PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS was not completed all at once. There were many nights when servers crashed, times spent fighting cheaters, and above all, many days when we feared that fans might turn their backs on us."
Jang explained that through every difficult moment, the team asked themselves one single question. "What do the fans want? Ten years have passed since we began searching for that answer from our fans," he said, adding, "Even today, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is shared with tens of millions of fans worldwide."
As his conclusion from those 10 years, Jang emphasized attitude rather than performance metrics. "What we learned over the past 10 years is that numbers like traffic or revenue themselves are not the goal," he said. "If we endlessly move forward for the fans, a game eventually becomes part of their daily lives, and that daily routine can ultimately become a culture." He added, "There are still many fans in the world whom we have yet to meet—people waiting for the intense experiences and new fun that only games can deliver. The journey and attitude toward meeting those fans are what today's story is about."
He also touched upon games currently in service. Speaking of Subnautica 2, which entered Early Access on May 15, Jang said, "Millions of fans are already exploring that ocean." Alongside it, he cited inZOI, Last Epoch, MIMESIS, and Overgeared Hero as titles driving new player intake. Explaining KRAFTON's creative studio structure, he stated, "What matters to us is that before those creators are creators, they are fans who love games."
"Five Invitations"... CGPO Jang introduces new titles

Jang defined the five titles as "five invitations sent to fans worldwide, each with its own unique world and distinct experience."
'PUBG: Deadnet' is a new PUBG franchise title currently being developed by PUBG STUDIOS. Jang explained, "It is a new title that addresses the themes of survival and competition built up in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS over the past 10 years, reinterpreting them into a new form of gameplay without staying tied to existing battle royale formulas." He added, "We haven't set a conclusion in stone yet, and plan to find that answer together with fans," teasing plans for a CBT.
'NO LAW' is an immersive open-world FPS RPG currently in development by Swedish studio Neon Giant. Mentioning its tagline, "Reap What You Sow," Jang said, "In a port city where laws have vanished, every single choice you make crafts a different story." He added, "We are building a game where you can say, 'This story could only be written by me, the player.'"
'Project ZETA' is being developed by domestic studio Nirvanana. KRAFTON refers to the game's genre as Multi-team Tactical Arena (MTA). Jang said, "It delivers a play experience where multiple teams clash simultaneously on a single battlefield. Every moment's judgment—who to join hands with, who to defeat first—makes each match's story brand new." He added, "We are continuing to test and polish it alongside fans even now."
'Age Twisters' is a two-player co-op adventure developed by Spanish studio Piccolo Studio. Using a bracelet bearing the same name as the title, the two protagonists solve puzzles by shifting across various life stages. Jang said, "A moment when, upon finishing the game, you look at the family member sitting beside you in a new light—that is what we want to gift to fans through this game."
'TARAE: The Unbound' is an Eastern dark fantasy action RPG being developed by Korean studio Boundary. Jang explained, "Confronting 'Agatha,' a being seeking to break the wheel of Six-Path Samsara, players embark on a journey choosing one of six Eastern classes. On battlefields facing dokkaebi, yokai, and ghosts, players will experience fear and beauty at the same time."
Concluding the presentation, Jang said, "Creating games that are remembered and loved by fans for a long time is difficult and takes a long time. There are no shortcuts or easy paths on this road." He added, "I didn't stand here today to boast about the success of these games in advance, but to explain what challenges KRAFTON is taking on for the fans." He continued, "Until the day the saying 'If KRAFTON makes it, it's fun' reaches fans, we will move forward boldly and with sincerity."
