NC's MMORPG Throne and Liberty (TL) underwent a scheduled update on August 25.

The update added 'Snowsoul' weapons, a tier above the Radiant Toland Arch Boss weapons. Players can upgrade their existing Radiant Arch weapons to a higher tier using new Arch Boss materials introduced alongside them.

Content in the Nix region was also extensively revamped. In 'Remnants of Nix,' the rules for escape portals and boss spawns were changed, while the 'Tumgir Vault' saw improvements to movement routes and interaction times. The overall gameplay burden was reduced, with numerous surprise events having their required quantities and stages scaled down.

In addition, skill and trait balance adjustments for each weapon class were applied alongside quality-of-life improvements to the crafting system, Auction House search, and more.

'Snowsoul' weapons, the tier above Radiant Toland Arch Boss weapons, have been added.

Snowsoul weapons are upgraded gear crafted by combining existing Radiant Toland Arch weapons with new materials. The new materials, 'Frost Flower Steeped in Heavenly Thunder' and 'Great Tree Branch Steeped in Heavenly Thunder,' can be obtained from Radiant Toland Arch Bosses, and the two materials can be converted into each other through crafting.

A separate crafting recipe using the Skill Core of Snowsoul weapons was also added.

A new monster grade, 'Champion,' has also debuted. Positioned between Elite and Boss grades, Champions are affected by boss-related stats. Accordingly, some elite monsters that used to spawn during events in hunting grounds across the territory have been changed to Champion grade.

New achievements were added to the Nix region as well. While new achievements targeting surprise events, Tumgir Vault, and exploration elements were introduced, existing achievements that could no longer be completed due to the surprise event overhaul were removed.

This update also brought a major overhaul to reduce the gameplay burden of content in the Nix region.

First, 'Remnants of Nix' underwent overall rule changes, ranging from the designation of high-risk and risk areas to escape methods.

At the start of a session, 2 out of 3 high-risk areas and 3 out of 4 risk areas are randomly selected. Rather than activating all at once, escape portals now unlock sequentially in sets of 3 at 5 minutes, 12 minutes, and 19 minutes after the session begins. After 26 minutes, the final escape portal opens.

The locations of portals with emergency escape devices have also been fixed, allowing players to check them on the world map.

The spawn mechanics for boss-level monsters have changed as well. Party Champions now spawn between 10 and 20 minutes after the session starts, and their appearance and kill status can be tracked via notifications and the content tracker.

The boss 'Masarax' has a 30% chance to spawn at a fixed location 15 minutes after the session begins. In return, its rewards have been increased and its combat difficulty lowered.

Balance adjustments were also applied to skills and traits across weapon types.

The weapon class with the largest numerical changes is the Orb.

The monster damage amplification effect of 'Starlight Surge' was reduced from 100% to 60% at Heroic Level 5 or higher. Its Specialization Option 1, 'Damage Amplification,' was also reduced from 8% to 6%.

The monster damage amplification effect of Specialization Option 1, 'Mirinae,' for 'Summon Constellation' was also nerfed from 60% to 35% at Heroic Level 5 or higher.

For Daggers, the damage amplification values of certain traits were adjusted. 'Inject Venom Enhancement' was modified to amplify the damage of only the final attack rather than the entire chain skill, with its value adjusted from 200% to 150%, while 'Vampiric Strike Enhancement' had its damage amplification reduced from 150% to 100%.

For Spears, the explosion damage amplification per stack of Rupture, Ignition, and Electrocution on 'Cross Slash Enhancement' was reduced from 40% to 30%.

Conversely, usability improvements were made to certain weapons. The Wand skill 'Fountain of Life' had its applicable height range expanded from -1m–3m to -3.5m–3.5m.

Multiple equipment effects were also adjusted. 'Iron Cat's Severing Blade' was modified to deal 700% of base damage to monsters instead of removing 5 stacks of Thundercloud, while 'Endless Winter Thunderwood' had the cooldown on its special skill removed.

Various quality-of-life improvements were also implemented.

When crafting higher-tier gear using equipment as material, players can now choose whether or not to transfer the material gear's traits. If traits are not transferred, a new trait will be granted based on probability as before.

When equipment is used as a crafting material, the material selection window will now always be displayed. Previously, the window did not appear, sometimes causing the first piece of equipment in the inventory to be automatically consumed as material; however, following the update, players can directly inspect the gear being used.

The Auction House search function was also expanded. Even for currently untradeable items, players can check market prices through the Auction House search as long as an identical tradeable item exists.

Additionally, leap circles were added around the Star Lighthouse in the Nix region, along with destination guidance for surprise events and permanent map icon displays for leap circles.
