HoYoverse Korea announced on August 24 that it is launching the 'Genshin Impact Forest Project' in the open-world RPG 'Genshin Impact,' partnering with Karrot, Korea's leading local community platform, and Smilegate Hope Studio.

This participatory event commemorates the six years spent together between 'Genshin Impact' and its Travelers, while encouraging participants to reduce carbon emissions through everyday walking. The main event of the 'Genshin Impact Forest Project,' titled 'Neighborhood Walk That the Forest Will Remember,' will take place in the 'Neighborhood Walk' feature within the Karrot app from August 24 to August 31.

After installing the Karrot app, participants can access 'Neighborhood Walk' under 'My Karrot,' where one tree will be accumulated for every 3,000 steps walked per day. If the total accumulated steps across all participants reach 100 million or more during the event period, a real-world 'Genshin Impact Forest' will be created.

Progress on the step count goal can be tracked on the 'Genshin Impact Forest Project' event page, and the final results will be revealed through official 'Genshin Impact' channels.

A giveaway event for Neighborhood Walk participants will also take place. Reaching at least 3,000 steps in Karrot's 'Neighborhood Walk' during the event period automatically enters the user, with higher accumulated tree counts increasing the chances of winning.

Winners will be notified individually via Karrot chat on September 4, receiving practical eco-friendly gifts designed for daily carbon reduction, such as a 'Genshin Impact Forest Project' photo card set, T-money card, and Karrot pickup bag. Additionally, an SNS event will be held on the official X (formerly Twitter) platform, where participants follow the official 'Genshin Impact' X account, select one of the provided options, and post their result. Participants will be entered into a raffle to win 'Genshin Impact' acrylic stands, chain tin badges, removable sticker sets, and more.
