Global game developer and publisher Elementa announced that it has rebranded its upcoming immersive empathy 3D idol game, 'V Project', to 'StarToU', while unveiling its new self-producing idol group 'MacGuffin' and core gameplay for the first time.
Reborn through this rebranding, StarToU is an entertainment community platform built around in-game idol culture. Powered by "Touch" technology, the memory-experience medium "Echo" supports immersive interactions between idols and fans.
Alongside the rebrand, the new self-producing idol group MacGuffin was also revealed. Built on a hip-hop concept with "fun × rebellion" as the team's core color, MacGuffin showcases a unique idol appeal through a fearless attitude paired with witty yet cute charm.
In the group's first PV released alongside the announcement, the four members—Tay, Yoora, Lim, and Noki—perfectly express their distinct team identity in trendy street style with a sophisticated yet rebellious vibe. This stands in striking contrast to the three energetic and refreshing trainees previously introduced—Lee, Near, and OCT—fully showcasing the maturity characteristic of an active, popular boy group.
With the arrival of MacGuffin, StarToU is expanding beyond simple emotional connections to build a content ecosystem focused on group management and rich character IPs, with plans to sequentially introduce various groups with unique personalities in the future.
In addition, StarToU's core gameplay was unveiled. Players enter the idol world as users of the StarToU platform. The game delivers high immersion through diverse multi-branching storylines utilizing "Touch" memory-recreation technology, as well as rhythm game interactions and stage performances in the Music Space.
Before performances, players can freely arrange characters, outfits, and card combinations to create their own stages. Furthermore, diverse features like the "Companion Journal" and "TOKI Interactions" allow players to enjoy deeper idol development and fandom activities, fostering a stronger bond with the idols.
Meanwhile, the rebranded StarToU plans to conduct a CBT in select regions in the second half of this year, followed by sequential global tests. Further details can be found on the official website and social media channels.
