GXG 2026, a game culture festival hosted by Seongnam City, will be held from September 11 to 12 around Pangyo Station Plaza, showcasing collaborative content across various fields.
The game culture festival GXG 2026 (Game culture X Generation 2026) is hosted by Seongnam City (Mayor Shin Sang-jin) and organized by the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency (President Lee Ju-yeon) and the Game Culture Foundation (Chairman Yoo Byung-han). The event features a program lineup spanning various fields, including creative arts, technology, career guidance, and cosplay.
Existing collaborative programs, such as the indie game exhibition and showcase 'IndieCraft' and the game industry career initiative 'GV2026 (Game Vision 2026)', will continue to run. This year's 'IndieCraft' features a total of 72 companies—52 in the domestic category and 20 in the challenger category—exhibiting a wide variety of indie games. 'GV2026' invites experts in gaming, AI development, and esports to offer youth and young adults opportunities for career exploration.

New content has also been added, further expanding the scope of collaboration. The inaugural AI-based game sound design competition, 'AI Game Sound Design Challenge (AI GSDC)', will be held in partnership with Gamesound.ai. Participants can submit sound creations created using AI technology through August 23, with the award ceremony taking place on the main stage of GXG 2026 on September 12.
Additionally, on September 12 at Topaz Hall on the 10th floor of Hyundai Department Store Pangyo, the main tournament for the 'Pokémon Card Game 2026 Seongnam CITY Battle Tournament' will take place, bringing together participants who passed regional and on-site qualifiers. Side events for general visitors will also be available.
Furthermore, ties with the 'Korea Subculture Contest' sponsored by the Game Culture Foundation have been strengthened, with the cosplay dance category finals and award ceremony set for September 12 on the main stage. Under the slogan "Game, Enjoyed as Culture," GXG 2026 plans to expand the game culture experience through a diverse array of content including performances, exhibitions, cosplay, and hands-on activities. Detailed information and registration can be found on the official website.
