Hanwha Life Esports defeated BNK FearX 2-1 in their 2026 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) regular season Round 1 match, held on the 10th at LoL Park in Jongno. Although they dropped the second set, Hanwha Life Esports clearly demonstrated their superior caliber in the first and third sets, which they won.
In the first set, BNK FearX got off to a promising start as 'Raptor' Jeon Eo-jin's Jarvan IV, alongside 'Kellin' Kim Hyeong-gyu's Rell and 'VicLa' Lee Dae-gwang's Ryze, secured two early kills. However, 'Delight' Yu Hwan-jung's Pyke turned the tide by roaming to the top lane to set up a kill for 'Zeus' Choi Woo-je's Jayce. With 'Kanavi' Seo Jin-hyeok's Xin Zhao building Titanic Hydra and exerting immense pressure in skirmishes, Hanwha Life Esports began racking up kills.
To make matters worse for BNK FearX, 'Zeus' secured a solo kill in the side lane. Pushed onto the back foot, BNK FearX attempted to pivot toward the Rift Herald, but Hanwha Life Esports was ready. They stole the Herald and won a decisive team fight, blowing the gold gap wide open. Maintaining their momentum, Hanwha Life continued to dominate, ending the first set in just 24 minutes with a gold lead of over 17k.
The second set was much more competitive, characterized by a back-and-forth struggle where BNK FearX repeatedly countered Hanwha Life's leads. 'VicLa's Hwei secured a solo kill against 'Zeka' Kim Geon-woo's Annie to put his team on the board, and 'Kellin's Neeko led the team to victory in the third dragon team fight with a perfectly placed ultimate that shattered the opposing formation.
Around the 22-minute mark, the Cloud Soul appeared for BNK FearX. Although Hanwha Life secured the dragon, 'Diable' Nam Dae-geun's Ezreal and 'Clear' Song Hyeon-min's Renekton survived the ensuing skirmish to secure an Ace. Having overturned the gold deficit, BNK FearX caught out 'Delight's Bard, secured Baron, and wiped out the remaining Hanwha Life defenders. With the momentum firmly in their hands, BNK FearX took the second set.
In the decisive third set, BNK FearX drew first blood, catching 'Gumayusi' Lee Min-hyeong's Xayah in the bottom lane with the help of 'Raptor's Naafiri. Hanwha Life's bottom lane struck back, however, successfully turning around a second dive attempt by Naafiri to secure a 2-for-1 kill trade. Nevertheless, BNK FearX regained control as 'Clear' secured a solo kill on Aurora while simultaneously winning a skirmish in the bottom half of the map.
Around the 13-minute mark, a skirmish broke out when Hanwha Life chased a slightly overextended Naafiri. BNK FearX's positioning became fractured during the retreat, providing Hanwha Life with the opening they needed. After a relentless pursuit, Hanwha Life secured an Ace, completely shifting the momentum. Following a victory in the third dragon team fight, Hanwha Life pulled ahead by over 6k gold, snowballed the game rapidly, and closed out the series in the 23rd minute.
