Today, Star Wars fans got to see the most in-depth and complete look at what Star Wars: Squadronsgameplay will look, feel, and play like. During the end portion of the EA Play Live event (embedded later in post), EA revealed it most exciting (an entirely built for VR!) new offering single-player and multiplayer offering.

Star Wars: Squadrons, With a release date of October 2nd, offers unparalleled Star Wars space fighting action and immersion. Simply put, Star Wars fans are being offer the most polished version of space combat that has ever been offered in the franchise's history. With a full social hub and massive multi-player mode, Star Wars: Squadron offers an impressively fresh and new approach to organized multiplayer gameplay.

All jokes aside, the game does look like it offers a very exciting multiplayer experience. In particular, the ability to lead your squadron through a variety of strategies (stealthy espionage or quick airships with high-speed maneuvers) reminded many of your typical MOBA or classed based team-game.

Consider me excited about the prospect of Star Wars esports. The games single-player mode also seems to feature a rich story that will prepare you for real PvP combat. The AI opponents in Squadrons are likely extremely tough if the player desires that challenge, as there is really no other way to prepare your self for whatever 5 vs. 5 Star Wars space combat is like.
