The release date for 'Splatoon Raiders,' the first spin-off in the Splatoon series, has been set for July 23. A dedicated Nintendo Direct for the game will also be held on June 30.
On the 9th, Nintendo showcased new gameplay footage for Splatoon Raiders during a Nintendo Direct presentation. As the first spin-off in the series, this title shifts away from the multiplayer-focused combat of previous Splatoon games to center on a single-player story experience. Set in the Saltspire Archipelago, an uncharted region far from the city, players take on the role of a skilled young 'Mechanic' and travel across the islands in search of treasure.
However, as players approach treasure sites, they are immediately attacked by the aggressive Salmonid hordes occupying the islands. One of the primary tools for fighting back is the Survey Mecha. When the Deep Cut trio boards it, the mecha can automatically attack enemies or serve as a jump pad, and at times, players can leap out of the mecha to unleash powerful special abilities. There are also various types of gadgets available, which can be leveled up through combat to become increasingly powerful.
Tie-in events for existing Splatoon players have also been planned. A special Splatfest collaboration between Splatoon 3 and Splatoon Raiders will take place in July. Additionally, a new color of Joy-Con controllers will be released on the same day as the game.
Splatoon Raiders will be released on July 23 for the Nintendo Switch 2. Furthermore, a 'Splatoon Raiders Nintendo Direct' providing more detailed information about the game is scheduled for June 30.
