Riftbound fans won’t have to wait long for their next adventure through the realm where spirit and steel intertwine. Developer Chengren and the Riftbound team have announced Riftbound: Spiritforged, the follow-up to the successful Origins set, arriving in English on February 13, 2026. The new expansion promises to redefine how players approach strategy, with deeper mechanics, fresh champions, and a fusion of might and soul that’s central to the Riftbound experience.
“Spiritforged builds upon Origins in every way,” the developers said in a new showcase. “Weapons aren’t just tools—they’re extensions of your power.” The upcoming set introduces three new mechanics that expand tactical options and reward creativity.
Equipment, a new card subtype, lets players attach powerful weapons or artifacts to their units, boosting strength and granting lasting effects. Even if the unit falls, the equipment remains in play, waiting to be reforged onto a new ally. Meanwhile, the Gold mechanic, featured prominently by the champion Draven, introduces tokens that can be spent to gain Power, a key resource for unleashing stronger cards. Finally, Repeat allows spells to be cast a second time for an additional cost, creating new combo potential for advanced players.
Spirit Blossoms and New Ways to Conquer
Tying into the lore of Ionia, the Spirit Blossom event bridges the mortal and spirit realms, introducing 12 new themed “Overnumbered” cards. Players can expect to see classic champions like Azir, Lucian, and Sivir reimagined through the Spirit Blossom lens, each with unique abilities tied to the expansion’s spiritual motif.
The preview also showcased dynamic moments from the Riftbound battlefield, with players testing new mechanics in action—Draven wielding enhanced might through Equipment and Repeat, and Azir countering with his sand soldier army and a quick-draw Sterak’s Gauge.
As Riftbound continues to evolve, Spiritforged aims to offer a mix of narrative depth and mechanical innovation that pushes the game’s competitive and creative boundaries. Whether forging weapons or mastering the art of repeat casting, players will soon have new ways to prove their might—and their soul—when Riftbound: Spiritforged launches this February.
