Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League 2023 to culminate in playoffs on 18 – 19 March

The inaugural Pokémon UNITE invitation-only tournament broadcasted by ONE Esports,

will see the playoffs take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

  

13 March 2023 – The regular season of Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League 2023 will culminate in the highly anticipated playoffs taking place on 18 – 19 March 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The playoffs will see the top two teams from each league – Hi5 and T2 from the East Asia League, MYS and RISE from the Southeast Asia League, and Marcos Gaming and Revenant Esports from the India League – battle it out for a piece of the US$86,000 prize pool.

 

The first day of the playoffs will feature a best-of-3, single round-robin format, where the six teams are split into two groups – Group A and Group B. The last team on each group will be eliminated going into the semi-finals, which will see the leading team from Group A battle it out with the runner-up from Group B and vice versa. The finals will feature the last two teams in a best-of-5 format, with the victorious team taking home the first-place prize allocation of US$30,000.

 

Livestreaming of the matches will commence on 18 March 2023, 12:00 p.m. MYT (GMT+8). Pokémon UNITE fans who wish to attend the playoffs in person at Battle Arena Malaysia, Jaya Shopping Centre, may sign up here. Those who register early stand a chance to walk away with limited edition Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League merchandise.

Pokémon UNITE World Championship 2023

 

Pokémon UNITE World Championship 2023 is the final event of the 2023 Pokémon UNITE Championship Series. The World Championships will see the best players compete for a prize pool of US$500,000 in Yokohama, Japan.

 

The Asia Qualifiers will be held in five regions monthly from April to June. The top teams from each qualifier will advance to the regional representative rounds in June. Subsequently, the teams that emerge victorious in the regional representative rounds will proceed to compete in Pokémon UNITE World Championship 2023.

 

Registration for the qualifiers in April starts 10 March – 12 April 2023. For details on tournament rules and how to participate, please refer to the official website.
