FlyQuest secured its spot in the post-season by defeating Team Liquid in its penultimate match of the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series Spring Split, but also sent a ripple effect down the standings that affected other teams looking to qualify for the 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs. FlyQuest's 10th win indirectly punched the post-season tickets of TSM, Evil Geniuses, and 100 Thieves, who currently sit in a three-way tie for 3rd place at 9-8.

TSM, Evil Geniuses, and FlyQuest all entered week 9 with a chance to qualify for the post-season with a win on the day. However, 100 Thieves upstaged TSM in an incredible come from behind victory to bring both teams to their current 9-8 record. Evil Geniuses was unsuccessful in defeating Cloud9, and thus, also fell to 9-8.

FlyQuest's win against Team Liquid gave the reigning LCS champion its 10th loss of the season, and because the worst TSM, EG, and 100 can do is 9-9, they've secured spots in the Spring Playoffs regardless of the result of their respective final matches.

Immortals, Team Liquid, Golden Guardians, and Dignitas are currently competing for the final spot in the 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs. If Immortals is able to win its first match of the weekend against Dignitas, it will be the 9th IMT win of the season and solidify the team as the final post-season squad alongside Cloud9, FlyQuest, TSM, Evil Geniuses, and 100 Thieves.
