SQUARE ENIX has announced that the new series entry, 'Kingdom Hearts 4', will be released for the Nintendo Switch 2. Alongside the new title, the 'Kingdom Hearts Collection 1-3', which bundles the first three games, will also launch on the Switch 2.
SQUARE ENIX unveiled a teaser trailer for 'Kingdom Hearts 4' during the Nintendo Direct held on June 9. The footage is set in Quadratum, a world resembling modern-day Tokyo, and offers a glimpse into the narratives of Sora and various other characters. The trailer also showcases Sora's fast-paced action using his Keyblade.
In addition to the Kingdom Hearts 4 release, Nintendo is bringing Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind to the Nintendo Switch 2. While these titles were previously available on the Nintendo Switch only as cloud versions, the enhanced performance of the Switch 2 allows them to be played natively on the hardware. The Kingdom Hearts 1-3 bundle will also be available.
For the three Kingdom Hearts 1-3 titles, players can transfer save data from the cloud versions. As with previous releases, localization will only be supported for Kingdom Hearts III. However, it has been confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 4 will officially support Korean.
Additional release dates and further details for Kingdom Hearts 4 will be announced at a later time. Kingdom Hearts 1-3 are scheduled for release on October 8.
