The Overwatch 2 team announced on Tuesday that they will be hosting an Overwatch 2 Player-Versus-Player first look live stream on May 20th at 12 PM PDT. During the PvP reveal event, the developers will be showcasing many of the changes coming to Overwatch 2's multiplayer modes, including new maps and "major gameplay updates".

The 2-hour event will be hosted by Matt “Mr. X” Morello and Mitch “Uber” Leslie and will feature the new Game Director Aaron Keller, the Lead Hero Designers Geoff Goodman, and the Associate Art Director Dion Rogers. The stream will also feature guest appearances from Overwatch personalities Styolsa and Cuppcaake.

For those who are not satisfied with the PvP reveal, the developers also announced a new development AMA on Reddit to celebrate Overwatch's fifth anniversary on May 24th. For more details about both events, check out Aaron Keller's latest developer update.

The Overwatch community has become increasingly wary about the development Overwatch 2 in recent months. Blizzard revealed very little new information about the game at BlizzCon, and revealed to their stockholders in Q1 of 2021 that they will not be releasing Overwatch 2 in 2021. Even more recently, Jeff Kaplan stepped down from his position at the helm of Overwatch 2 and was replaced with Aaron Keller. All of this has culminated in a lot of concern from their community about how good Overwatch 2 will be.

The upcoming look at OW2 PvP has the potential to assuage some of the community concerns about the new game, though we will have to wait and see what they show us before drawing any conclusions.  You can tune into the PvP reveal on the PlayOverwatch YouTube or Twitch channels.
