Evil Geniuses Academy are the first team to secure a spot in the 2020 LCS Academy Spring Split Playoff Finals. They faced the early season favorites, Dignitas Academy, in the Semifinals and knocked them out in a 3-1 series. They'll face the victor of the Cloud9 Academy vs TSM Academy game taking place tomorrow.
EG Academy had a shaky early split with multiple roster changes after visa issues affected the team, but quickly figured out their synergies and finished the regular season on a dominant 7-2 run. After the clean sweep against Team Liquid Academy last week, they were met by Dignitas Academy who had received a bye thanks to their dominance throughout most of the split. Dignitas did, however, begin to falter near the end of the split which culminated in their loss today.
While Dignitas put up a good fight in two of their games, EG was able to take the series fairly cleanly. Their next opponent will have to prepare well in order to take them down.
