Riot Games is rolling out a long-requested feature for its popular tactical shooter VALORANT. With the release of patch 11.06, players will now be able to download and review match replays, opening new possibilities for learning, entertainment, and community content creation.

The system allows players to revisit key moments from completed matches and view them from multiple perspectives, including first-person and third-person. Replays can be accessed through the match details page or match history and downloaded for later review. Riot confirmed the feature will launch globally beginning Wednesday, Sept. 17, with a staggered rollout—China in October and consoles in November.

Diverse In-Game Play Analysis Now Possible!

According to Riot, the replay system includes tools designed to make studying gameplay easier. Users can toggle player outlines, track projectiles, and adjust playback speed. A timeline feature highlights kill points and ultimate ability usage, making it simple to jump directly to critical moments. The interface also supports minimap and HUD toggles, giving players flexibility in how they review matches.

The addition is expected to benefit a wide spectrum of the player base. Content creators can refine highlight reels with more precision, while professional players and coaches gain a valuable tool for team strategy analysis. Casual and beginner players, meanwhile, may use the feature to observe others’ movement and tactics in order to sharpen their own skills.

The system will be available in Unrated, Competitive, Swiftplay, and Premier modes. However, Riot noted that Custom matches and official VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) competitions will not yet support replay functionality. In a statement, Riot said the replay system is intended to become a “core feature that helps players learn and improve their skills,” adding that it will continue to gather community feedback for future improvements.

Patch 11.06 marks one of the most significant quality-of-life updates since the game’s launch, answering years of community requests for a robust replay system. As VALORANT continues to expand across regions and platforms, the feature is positioned to enhance both competitive play and content creation within the global community.
