Invictus Gaming Defeats JD Gaming in the Finals and Lifts the 2019 LPL Spring Trophy

On the 21st of April (CST), Invictus Gaming (IG) defeated JD Gaming (JDG) 3:0 and won the 2019 LPL Spring Playoffs.

Now the champions of the LPL, IG came in a close second place in the 2018 LPL Summer losing to RNG 2:3.  Shortly after, they managed to win the 2018 Worlds defeating Fnatic 3:0 in the Finals. Going into 2019, IG successfully made contract renewals and secured every one of their 'Worlds-winning' starting members. As expected, IG performed solidly throughout this Spring Regular Split. Although they did seem shaky at times, the IG crew managed to successfully secure a second-place seed for the playoffs.

Looking at the JDG players' performance, a 3:0 wasn't expected in this Finals; the game itself was quite a one-sided match as well. The IG players managed to dominated games 1 and 2 starting from the laning phase. JDG seemed to bounce back in game 3 securing kills in the early game. However, they made mistakes in the mid game teamfights and IG turned the tables after slaying the Baron. After a  big teamfight victory in the late game, they destroyed JDG's Nexus.

With IG winning their very first LPL trophy, they will compete in the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) main event against SKT, Team Liquid, and G2. This MSI starts on the 1st of May and ends on the 19th.
