GEN Ambition: "Our goal is to win all of the remaining games. If that ends up not being the case, we'll have to at least do well during the playoffs."

On the 15th, at the Seoul Gangnam Nexon Arena, another day of the "2018 LCK Summer Split Round 2" took place. During the 2nd series of the day, Gen.G Esports defeated Hanwha Life Esports with a score of 2-1. After losing game 1, GEN subbed-in Ambition and proceeded to reverse sweep and win. After the series, Ambition exerted his resolution for his upcoming match against Kingzone.

The following is an interview with Ambition.

How does it feel having defeated HLE?

It was a difficult matchup. That's why the victory was very valuable.

After having lost to Griffin previously, what kind of feedback went back and forth between your teammates and coaches?

Our entire team was in a slump. We're still in the process of recovering, but we learned a lot through our match against Griffin. We did keep up with practice, but I think we had forgotten a lot of important things about the game.

In game 2, after being subbed in, you played Nocturne. Can you explain to us why you decided to go with that pick?

Currently, Taliyah and Nocturne receive a lot of bans. I had practiced the two frequently, so I was confident in my abilities.

When did you become certain that you'd win in game 2?

When the enemy team failed a 3-man dive at toplane, I knew that we had taken a very large advantage. But I still had my doubts until the very end.

Fly joined Gen.G as a midlaner. What is your opinion on him?

He's not a player that "destroys" his enemy in lane. However, he doesn't lose either. He knows how to take advantage of his leads. Team synergy will eventually form with time, so I'm doing my best to synergize well with both Crown and Fly.

In game 3, you guys played a late game team composition. You seemed to have struggled in the early game because of it.

Aside from the toplane and jungle, it didn't feel like we were at a disadvantage. However, there were a couple of mistakes from our side that gave over leads to the enemy team.

Kennen was a big issue. We knew that Mundo couldn't fight Kennen one on one, so we proceeded with the game carefully.

What is your goal for the remaining games of Round 2?

Our goal is to win all of the remaining games. If that ends up not being the case, we'll have to at least do well during the playoffs.

Your next opponent is Kingzone DragonX. It's an important series. How will you prepare for them?

We do our best regardless of who we face. Since we won today, we'll be less pressured when playing against Kingzone.

Any last words?

I want to thank my wife who came to cheer for me today.
