PCS champions PSG Talon have done what T1 and RNG couldn't: end G2 Esports' win streak. In the 2022 MSI Rumble Stage, PSG Talon triumphed over their European opponents, who had not lost a single game since dropping to the lower bracket in the 2022 LEC Spring Split playoffs and entered the game on a 24-game win streak.

In the draft phase, PSG Talon formed the foundation upon which they built their victory. By picking Ornn for Su "Hanabi" Chia-Hsiang they did not only beef up their lineup and give themselves a late-game powerhouse, but they also denied the champion from Sergen "Broken Blade" Çelik, who had been performing well with the demi-god.

PSG Talon tried to seize control over the game early relatively quickly. A roam to the top lane by Ling "Kaiwing" Kai Wing on the Rell was answered too late by G2 jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski, who took the fall to protect his own top laner. While G2 kept up in gold for most of the game by trading objectives around the map, it quickly became clear that PSG Talon's composition performed much better in the teamfights. G2 struggled to deal significant damage to their opponents, who then pressed their ult buttons and blew up G2 repeatedly.

The race for the fourth seed

With the victory, PSG Talon close out the first half of the Rumble Stage's Double Round Robin format with a 2-3 record. They're tied with LCS champions Evil Geniuses, who lost against T1 earlier in the day. With G2 Esports in a comfortable lead at a 4-1 score, RNG in second place with a 3-1 score [they are playing against an 0-4 Saigon Buffalo as of publishing this article], and T1 in third place with a 3-2 score, it seems that PSG Talon and Evil Geniuses will be competing with each other for the final spot in the semifinals.

G2 Esports has a chance to recover from their loss later today against LPL champions RNG, whom they beat in their initial clash. PSG Talon will look to keep their momentum, facing off against T1 in the fourth match of the day.
