IGEC CEO Panel: "Esports exists because of the communities fans have built..."

Inven’s Global Esports Conference took place at the start of June, and we kicked off with an absolutely stacked CEO panel, hosted by our very own Tom Matthiesen. IGEC 2022 was a fantastic couple of days for us all here at Inven, and it’s fair to say our CEO panel was a wonderful way to get the event off to the best possible start.

With Tom hosting, the panel was in very safe hands, and we had one of the best lineups you could hope to see. In terms of the CEOs that were able to join us, we had an all-star cast, with G2’s Carlos ‘Ocelote’ Rodriguez, FlyQuest’s Tricia Sugita, Team Liquid’s Steve Arhancet, and T1’s Joe Marsh donating their time to share some lessons in esports leadership.

“Esports exists because of the communities [fans] have built, we wouldn’t be anywhere without the fans, that’s been consistent since day one, and will always stay true,”  said Tricia Sugita, FlyQuest CEO.

The panel came together to discuss all facets of management, as well as the evolution of the industry over the past few years, which have been as turbulent and exciting as any period in esports history. The experiences of leaders at organizations as big as those involved are as unique as they are invaluable, and we’re happy to share them with you today.

The panel is linked above for your viewing pleasure and we cover a multitude of topics, from fan interactions to why the CEOs got into the space, and what makes them tick when it comes to the community. Is winning more important than being entertaining, and what do fans really want from their organizations? With some of the biggest names in esports involved, this is a great chance to learn more about your favorite teams.
