“Ask Me Anything” Panel Series: Blizzterns

On October 5 (PDT), TESPA announced its "Ask Me Anything" sessions with Blizzard Entertainment, one of the most successful gaming companies worldwide, for anyone who'd be interested in asking questions regarding the company and the industry in general. Each panel consists of 3 employees who are mainly in charge of software engineering and technical aspects at the company. All sessions are expected to be held on the Tespa Discord channel, with the first at 5:00 PM on October 17, and the second at 7:00 PM on October 25 (PDT).

Each month, we'll be inviting professionals from the gaming industry to to discuss career development and to provide insight about different careers within the gaming industry.

Our next two AMAs will feature past Blizzard Interns and will take place on Oct. 17 at 5:00 p.m. PDT / 8:00 p.m. EDT and Oct. 25 at 7:00 p.m. PDT / 10:00 p.m. EDT on the Tespa Community Discord.

AMA #2: Blizztern Panel Part 1

OCTOBER 17, 5:00 P.M. PDT

Walter Ferrell: Software Engineer, Hearthstone

Walter is a Software Engineer on the server team for Hearthstone, and currently is a first responder for players facing issues concerning Hearthstone. During his studies, he bootstrapped IT solutions for a solid-state physics lab, co-invented a novel identity confirmation system, and developed biometrics software for a local start up.

 

Sara Dadafshar: Technical Program Manager, IT

Sara is a Technical Program Manager, and currently working on Blizzard’s Cloud Infrastructure. Before joining Blizzard, she was a music video producer in the KPOP industry where she helped produce music videos for VIXX, Nu’est, F(x), and more. Later, she got her internship with Blizzard Entertainment as a production intern then transitioned to full time on Battle.net’s Engineering Systems team after graduation.

 

Andre Duvoisin: Software Engineer, Web and Mobile

Andre is a Software Engineer on the Web and Mobile team in Austin. He’s worked on several projects such as Blizzard’s voice chat, the Battle.net and Authenticator mobile apps, the Battle.net desktop app, the Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone game servers, the web servers supporting our websites, and much more.

Geoff Tucker: Gameplay Engineer, Heroes of the Storm

Geoff is a Gameplay Engineer for Heroes of the Storm. He’s worked on debugging tools, redesigning AI systems, and providing tech support for new heroes. Before joining Blizzard Entertainment full time, he was a Blizztern in 2014 and 2015 as a Java engineer on Battle.net's Game Data API and Authentication teams.

 

Jessica Dinh: Senior 3D Artist, World of Warcraft

Jessica is a Senior 3D Artist for World of Warcraft. Before she joined Blizzard Entertainment full time, she was a Blizztern for World of Warcraft’s Dungeon Team.

 

Sam Morris: Broadcast and Production Director, University of Utah

Sam is a Graphic Designer on the Creative Team for Tespa, and currently is working on developing projects and automation. Besides working at Tespa, he’s also working on growing the collegiate esports scene on a local and conference scale, creating organizations like the Utah Collegiate Esports Conference and the Pacific Alliance of Collegiate Gamers. He was a Blizztern in 2017 as a Graphics Designer at Tespa.
