Blizzard Entertainment announced on the 9th that the new Warlock class is coming to Diablo Immortal, accompanying the release of a cinematic trailer.
Launching on June 17 (KST) as part of the 5 major update, the Warlock is the game's 10th class. This hybrid ranged caster and master of demons draws upon the power of the Burning Hells to bend reality to their will.
The class was first introduced during the Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight in February, where it was revealed as a new addition coming sequentially to Diablo II: Resurrected, Diablo IV, and Diablo Immortal.
As a hybrid ranged summoner, the Warlock channels the power of the Hells to conjure demons and unleash hellfire magic, reveling in both joy and fury. Players can dominate the battlefield by summoning, commanding, and sacrificing demons, while fluidly switching between the roles of a ranged caster and a demonic commander. The Soulgorger, an iconic companion available to the Warlock from level 1, can devour demons during combat to absorb their power and grow stronger in real time.
Furthermore, the Warlock can focus explosive hellfire magic fueled by rage to deliver unpredictable, destructive, and exhilarating combat. Players can also create unique builds by combining demon summons, hell magic, and the Soulgorger’s predation mechanics with Legendary gems and equipment.
This unique, sadistic version of the Warlock makes its debut in Sanctuary alongside a new main questline, the long-awaited Lut Gholein zone, and three new Helliquary bosses designed to test the skills of the bravest hunters.
A new cinematic trailer was also unveiled last weekend at IGN Live, held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Diablo franchise. During the panel session, Nan Jiang, Lead Class Designer for Diablo Immortal, and Matthew Cederquist, Senior Producer for Diablo II: Resurrected, appeared to introduce the Warlock and the 'Hellfire Covenant' that grants them their power.
Detailed information regarding the new Warlock class and the 5 update arriving on June 17 can be found via the cinematic trailer, developer introduction video, and the official website. Image assets for Diablo Immortal are available in the press center.
