UPDATE May. 20: After reports of Immortals signing Kenvi as their new LCS jungler, 100 Thieves announced that the 100 Thieves Academy jungler would be parting ways with the organization. The wording used in 100 Thieves' announcement implies that Kenvi will remain in the North American competitive League of Legends ecosystem, but no specifics on where he is headed have been confirmed.

UPDATE May. 19: A report by Alejandro "anonimotum" Gomis points towards Immortals being set to sign Shane Kenneth "Kenvi" Espinoza. Kenvi, the jungler for 100 Thieves Academy, is widely considered as one of the best players in the LCS Academy league, and would be taking over for Andrei "Xerxe" Dragomir, who returned to the LEC to join Astralis after he parted ways with Immortals.

Immortals finished a franchise-worst 10th place in the 2022 LCS Spring Split and has wasted no time making moves before the summer.

IMT have already parted ways with support Mitchell "Destiny" Shaw and reports by Upcomer have linked to the team to AD carry Lawrence "Lost" Hui and support Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun.

A buyout by Immortals would put Lost on his third LCS team in three splits. After starting for TSM in the 2021 LCS season, Lost was reunited with his former head coach on Echo Fox, Nick "Inero" Smith, after being signed by Golden Guardians. With Lost in the starting AD carry position, Golden Guardians qualified for the 2022 LCS Spring Playoffs as the sixth seed, but were promptly eliminated by Cloud9 in a lower bracket sweep.

Despite showcasing a strong level of play for the past two years of the LCS on FlyQuest and Evil Geniuses in 2020 and 2021, respectively, IgNar found himself teamless to start 2022. Since IgNar is not under contract, he will not require a buyout the way Lost will should IMT acquire him from Golden Guardians.

Reports have also linked Immortals jungler Andrei "Xerxe" Dragomir to a potential LEC return. Xerxe has started for IMT for the past year and a half, but reports point towards him joining Astralis after their release of jungler Nikolay "Zanzarah" Akatov.

While Destiny is the only starter from last split who has officially been released from Immortals, a 5-13 finish this spring was far from the organization's expectation, especially with the off-season acquisitions of AD carry Jason "WildTurtle" Tran and mid laner Tristan "PowerOfEvil" Schrage.

WildTurtle was a rare bright spot on a dumpster fire of a 2021 Counter Logic Gaming season, but has had arguably the worst season of his career thus far. PowerOfEvil, for one reason or another, has also failed to provide the impact on IMT that he has on his previous teams. Top laner Mo "Revenge" Kaddoura has also experienced a sophomore slump in 2022 after a solid rookie season last year.
